Valio Gefilus dairy products contain the most studied lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, which promotes intestinal microflora, and the sunshine vitamin D essential for northerners that together with the LGG lactic acid bacteria contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Atleet is one of the most beloved cheese brands in Estonia, the recipe of which has remained unchanged ever since it was first created. The author of the recipe dating back more than 30 years is Valve Kelp, technologist at the Võru cheese plant, who was awarded the bronze medal at the Moscow exhibition of people’s economic achievements in 1984 for developing Atleet cheese and technology. The structure of Atleet cheese is airy and lacy and the quality is premium and reliable as is characteristic of Võru cheesemakers. Atleet cheese range includes cheeses Atleet Originaal, Atleet Light and Atleet Kuldne, plus also Atleet cheese snacks and a range of grated cheeses.
Valio Forte cheeses made from the best Estonian milk are the most popular and the only hard Italian-style cheeses made in Estonia that are produced by Võru cheesemakers and age for 10, 16 or 20 months in the Võru cheese warehouse that has all the necessary conditions and technology for aging hard cheeses in conditions comparable to Italian cheese cellars. And so the cheeses that are a true treat – Valio Forte Classico, Superiore and Speciale – reach the consumers.
